There is, as always, the set-up for a couple of the other characters to get their books and I really want to see where things go with Elyn.
How could I not love a guy who saves dying people in the desert by bringing them a Big Mac and has the fashion sense of a blind Brony Hair Metal Band? We also get glimpses into the mind of my favorite character, Lassiter. There is significant world-building that will direct future books in all of the connected series. Judging the book apart from her, I really loved it. Not, you know, fucked her.īut, you know, not my monkey not my circus.
As soon as the hero figured out what she was hiding he should have gotten her to a psychiatric hospital. However, it is very clear that she had a psychotic break right before the story began, and all of her actions are being directed by the broken psyche of a delusional person. This is a tough book to rate because, yes, I hated the heroine of the story as much as most reviewers.
